Job Title: Fitter/Seamstress

Location: Woburn Walk, Bloomsbury, London, WC1H

Reports to: Atelier Manager

Working hours: Full time, Monday-Friday 9.30am - 6pm / flexibility for evenings once a week.

Contract: Freelance/Temporary - Peak season May -to August early September

Job Purpose

Working closely with the Atelier Manger and Seamstresses, you will be responsible for hosting bridal fittings and performing alterations with the upmost excellence in client servicing, tailoring knowledge and execution. 

You will maintain up to date knowledge of construction and tailoring. Liaising between departments and ensuring smooth and professional day-to-day running of alterations and bridal fittings.

To have a comprehensive knowledge of the Halfpenny London standards, and ensure these are met through regularly revised processes, quality of product, and professional conduct.

Key duties & responsibilities:

• Prepare and carry out alterations and bridal fittings during peak season.
• Assist with keeping realistic schedules alongside the Atelier Manager.
• Build relationships with the team and support a collaborative environment.
• Manufacture of products to a high quality standard. 

FITTINGS

• Host bridal fittings. Ensure excellent customer service and an impeccable quality of alterations.
• Keep accurate fit notes and deliver a clear handover to the Atelier seamstresses for each client.
• Contribute to managing the timeline of client dresses in the studio from fittings through to alterations and collection.
• Maintaining utmost quality and finish of each product through in-house production and alterations.
• Keep an organised fittings diary.
• Technically support seamstresses, pattern cutters and production department.
• Flag any production and quality issues throughout a style’s cycle and work together with Production to find solutions.

• Excellent experience with alterations for evening and luxury garments. Bridal experience is preferable. 
• Strong technical skills in fit and manufacture, ensuring high quality standards are consistently maintained. 
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to multitask in hosting fittings while delivering exceptional service.
• Great understanding of patterns and creating bespoke garments.
• Flourish in a fast paced environment.
• You will be highly organised and run a clear diary. Setting clear objectives and achievable deadlines.
• You will operate in a professional manner, as a proud representative of Halfpenny London, and the culture of the brand. This means bringing a problem solving attitude, a friendly approach, and a courteous manner in all dealings.
