Job Description:

The Classroom Assistant will work with students in classroom and lab environments to complete multimedia communication projects. Assist students in audio video content creation projects such as podcast recording and editing, setting up video camera and lighting equipment and basic video editing. Demonstrate audio video gear such as cameras, microphones, and lighting.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrate use of studio equipment to students.
  • Provide assistance in course assignments and workflows.
  • Record and Edit Podcast with student teams.
  • Record and Edit short format video with students.
  • Assist teaching staff with demonstration lessons and practical knowledge; work one-on-one with students on projects and assignments.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of appropriate business experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of Adobe CC, MS Office, Google Suite, Canva, iMovie.
  • Working knowledge of marketing communications and media production tools and relevant to current industry standards. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Set up, maintain and demonstrate equipment and workflows to students in a audio/video studio environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with student production teams and assist them in fulfilling required learning objectives set forth in the course of study.
  • Organize and schedule lab appointments outside of class time.


Additional Information:

Salary

Salary Range: $48.13 - $51.58 per hour

The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment. Hiring Rate: $48.13 - $51.58 per hour with step increments per Salary Schedule 85, after 18 months of service and annually thereafter.

Work Schedule

Days/Hours: M-F, 22 hours per week, in person; work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.
