On is looking for a passionate, business-oriented, pragmatic, and proactive lawyer to join the growing legal team in Portland, Oregon reporting to the Head of Legal - America's. Someone who has a demonstrated ability to independently manage a diverse and complex workload, while proactively anticipating issues will thrive in this dynamic, growth oriented environment. As a team member of the On Legal team, you will provide legal support for global and regional marketing teams, as well as assist on other legal issues that may arise. The ideal candidate will advise and counsel business leaders on advertising law and guidelines, consumer protection issues, and other legal compliance matters that may impact marketing, advertising and consumer experiences.

Your Mission

- Partner with marketing teams across On - regional and global - to counsel and advise on brand campaigns and marketing materials
- Review, clear, and advise on copy and product information including "green" claims, ethical sourcing claims, and other ESG attributes
- Provide advice and counsel regarding compliance with environmental marketing guidelines, including the EU Directive, FTC Green Guides, and state and local laws
- Identify trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property issues related to marketing materials and work closely with On's IP team to resolve
- Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, including sponsorship agreements, influencer agreements, event agreements, and software agreements
- Prepare and deliver training, and create templates and guidelines to support the marketing and product teams in their daily work
- Ensure compliance with our internal guidelines as well as federal, state and local laws and regulations
- Coordinate, manage, and challenge outside counsel on various legal topics.
- Support the Legal Team at On in various internal and external projects
- Show strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex legal and business challenges while maintaining your priorities

Your Story

- 5+ years post qualification experience in a law firm and in-house, preferred experience in a consumer facing company
- Substantive knowledge of laws related to consumer protection, advertising, and marketing
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex legal and business challenges
- Collaborative nature and the ability to build relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Passionate about protecting the On brand in the market
- Innovative mindset with a passion for trying new things and improving the way we work
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest developments in your focus area
