What You'll Be Doing
This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned senior project manager to join a renowned retail group in the Middle East, working as part of the Information Security and Operations delivery team.
The Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of the portfolio of Information Security transformation projects.
You will ideally have a proven track record of deploying technology led transformation in a Retail environment and will help the group to scale our ambitions to provide seamless retail consumer capabilities across our stores, warehouses, brands and countries of operation.
- Actively monitor and adjust activities, resources and plans to support successful project execution across the programmes and projects in your scope.
- Pro-actively manage and mitigate programme and project risks, ensuring prompt escalation and resolution.
- Actively manage the operational activity of external vendors and delivery partners, where relevant
- Manage the on-budget delivery through close tracking of budget and forecast spend, pro-actively recommending opportunities to maximise the ROI of project budgets.
- Work directly with Tech leads (Infrastructure, Workplace Technology, Retail Supply Chain Operations, Digital Operations, Service Management) to align roadmaps and delivery plans based on their team's availabilities, the demands of the business and the agreed priorities.
- Work with the central Portfolio/PMO team to ensure projects under the role's remit leverage consistent good practice project delivery methods, tools and templates.
- Work with 3rd party suppliers and system integrators to ensure they abide and follow Chalhoub good practice delivery methods, tools and templated.
- Take active ownership on the delivery of projects in your remit, communicating status and updates to senior stakeholders.
- Follow all relevant PMO policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Deliver projects on-time, within scope and within budget, by minimizing and mitigating project risks.
- Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Understand customer, business and stakeholder needs, define priorities and propose solutions (scope, dependencies, risks, budget, schedule...etc.).
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop a detailed project plan and schedule to track progress.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
- Orchestrate the test activities on the project to ensure deliverables are of high quality.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Provide detailed, concise and accurate project reporting.
- Manage the relationship with the business stakeholders, internal resources and external vendors.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Deliver project in both Agile (preferably) Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.
- Participate in relevant projects and community activities as and when needed
What You'll Need To Succeed
- Minimum of 7 years of Project Management experience using both waterfall and agile methodologies
- Agile (e.g. Scrum) experience is beneficial.
- University Degree in Computing, Engineering or
- PMP, PRINCE II, Agile Scrum certifications are required.
- Consulting background and has experience of working on Information Security and Technology projects etc.
- On site experience with clients is a must
- Retail Industry experience is a must.
- Proactive with analytical skills with high attention to detail and ownership
- Tooling - comfortable with MS Project, experience with Asana is preferred.
- Vast knowledge of current/emerging Technical/Digital technologies, software and relevant processes
- Excellent time and resource management skills; can manage multiple projects simultaneously without difficulty in various geographic locations if necessary.
