ZIMMERMANN has a newly created career opportunity for an experienced Merchandiser to join our growing Merchandising team at our Head Office in Sydney.

 

About the role:

Reporting to the Merchandising Director, you will be responsible for executing the product strategy for our Special Categories within our Ready-to-Wear and Swim & Resort collectionsincluding Knitwear, Denim, Swimwear, Kidswear, Tee-shirting and Fleece to mention a few.

 

As the Merchandiser, your key responsibilities will include:

COLLECTION MERCHANDISING

  • Define collection structure to brief the Design Team based on the Creative Director’s vision, market & competition reviews, retail & wholesale performance and feedbacks: width, functions, shapes, materials, constructions, costs and target prices, life span, etc.
  • Monitor the development of the collection from sketch to sample; lead reviews with the Designers and the Design Studio Directors, set up and update range plans and merchandising trackers to achieve the brief and meet budgets.
  • Define prices in local currencies and ensure target positioning and margins are achieved across markets.
  • Build and lead collection presentations and buying strategy for Retail and Wholesale.

 

SALES MERCHANDISING

  • Define seasonal core assortments and key launches, collaborate with support teams to ensure 360 visibility across retail, e-commerce & wholesale buys through campaigns, socials, trainings and visual merchandising.
  • Follow up sell-in and sell-out performance at collection / category / product level, incorporate qualitative feedbacks from markets and partners, implement corrective plans with Buying & Planning to achieve ambitions
  • In collaboration with Retail Buying & Planning, define permanent assortments and end-of-life strategy – participate to OTBs reviews based on sales targets and mix.
  • Pilot online merchandising strategy in collaboration with e-Commerce & Buying teams based on core assortments, business ambitions and market specificities.

 

What you will bring to the role:

  • 5+ years of successful experience as Merchandiser / Buyer / Product Manager with an expertise in Women’s Ready-to-Wear.
  • Creative mindset and passion for fashion and market trends paired with excellent analytical skills and strong business acumen.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and problem solver, with an entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills with both creative personalities and business teams.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
