Ideal candidate will come from an Eveningwear, Bridal or Luxury RTW background, and have a keen interest and/or experience in design and development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Reporting to the Designer, you will be working as a right hand to realize design ideas from approved sketches, through development, managing sampling with factories, and follow through development of each product to production.
• Continuously propose new ideas, concepts, and techniques in line with Brand’s vision • Plan, coordinate, and execute all sampling, to ensure timely delivery of all sample sets. • Responsible for overseeing fabric and sampling development with all overseas and local factories and mills.
• Manage work of patternmakers and fabric development.
• Build detailed tech packs, design specs, and factory hand offs for new developments (techniques, garment, etc.)
• Manage trim sourcing & development.
• Liaise with factories and arrange development fittings.
• Updating of sketches after fittings
• Sample and source new fabric and trim qualities.
• Costing of each style ahead of market
• Maintain clear records of all design development: color/lab dips, fabrications, swatches, trims, reference tears, etc.
• Assist in custom client proposals (CADs, digital package prep, etc)
• Zedonk data entry
Qualifications and Skills:
• BA or equivalent qualification - Creative background preferred.
• International and Local relationships with fabric and trim mills as well as factories • Possess strong sketching abilities (both technical and illustrative)
• Software: Microsoft office (Excel), Adobe (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Zedonk • Clear knowledge of sampling processes, garment construction and finishings. • Highly organized and can keep on top of a fast-paced day to day.
